Education Week reports that the most recent draft of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) reauthorization provides greater funding for evaluation and effectiveness research as well as increased requirements that research evidence be available before using federal funds for purchasing educational products and services.

We are not surprised to hear of increased pressure on providing proof of effectiveness. Research conducted by KnowledgeQuest, a division of MarketingWorks in September 2011 revealed that 84% of school buyers felt that the presence of documented evidence of effectiveness was "very" or "extremely" important to their purchasing decisions.
